Privacy Policy

Short version

Your files never leave your computer. NBTBox is a client-side application: opening, parsing, editing and exporting NBT files happens entirely inside your web browser. There is no server that receives your files, and no upload code exists in this application.

What we process

  • Files you open. The .dat/.nbt file you choose is read by JavaScript in your browser tab using standard browser APIs. It is held in memory only, is not persisted anywhere by us, and is discarded when you close or reload the tab.
  • Edits you make. Edit operations modify an in-memory data structure in your tab. Nothing about the contents of your files is transmitted, logged, or stored by the site.
  • Exports. When you download an edited file, it is generated locally and handed to your browser's normal download mechanism.

What we do not do

  • We do not upload, transmit, store or have access to your files or file contents.
  • We do not require accounts, logins or personal information.
  • We do not use analytics scripts that profile your behavior across sites.

Third parties

If advertising is displayed on this site in the future, the advertising provider (for example Google AdSense) may set cookies or use device identifiers as governed by its own privacy policy. Ad code, when present, is loaded separately from the editor and has no access to the files you open or the edits you make. You can opt out of personalized advertising via your ad provider's settings (for Google, see google.com/settings/ads).
