Terms of Service
Last updated: October 28, 2026
1. Acceptance
By using NBTBox (the "Service") you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. The Service
NBTBox is a free, browser-based editor for NBT (Named Binary Tag) files, commonly used by game save data such as Minecraft level.dat and playerdata files. All processing occurs locally in your browser; the Service does not receive or store your files.
3. No warranty
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. Editing binary files always carries risk. You are responsible for keeping backups of your files before editing them. The operators of this site are not liable for data loss, corrupted saves, lost game progress, or any damages arising from use of the Service.
4. Acceptable use
- Do not use the Service to process files you do not have the right to modify.
- Do not attempt to disrupt the Service or use it to distribute malware.
- Do not misrepresent the Service as your own product.
5. Intellectual property
The NBTBox website, its code and its original text content are the property of the site operators. NBT is a publicly documented data format; no claim is made over the format itself or over any game content. For trademark information, see the Disclaimer.
6. Advertising and monetization
The Service may display advertising. If paid services (for example, a manual save-repair service) are offered in the future, their own terms will be presented before any purchase.
7. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms; continued use after an update constitutes acceptance. These terms are governed by the laws of the site operator's place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
